The arms of Manning of Norfolk decorate this large tureen stand. This is possibly the family of William Manning, who is properly known as the Mannings of Codham and Kent and Diss in Norfolk, England.
The Ayles was a merchant family in London. This and a hexagonal plate (2010.99) are from the same service. The coat of arms is known only from a sketch dated 1737 that was used to order a coach.
