The girl appears mid movement and blurry, she is wearing a white short sleeve shirt with dark pants, her hair tied in a ponytail. Overall there are significant cracks and chips in the wall paint, to the right of the photograph is a large circle of paint peeling away like curled ribbons hanging from a wreath.
One of five views of Montgomery and Selma, Alabama during the Civil Rights era between 1964 and 1968. This photograph, dating from March 7, 1965, shows white police officers wearing gas masks and carrying batons moving forward on the left towards a group of black men on the right in Selma, Alabama.
