Round blue jasper medallion with white relief profile portrait of Thrasybulus (440-388BC) facing right, He was an Athenian general and democratic leader. His public career began in 411 BC, when he frustrated oligarchic rising in Samos . Elected general by the troops, he effected the recall of Alcibiades, a former general accused of having profaned the hermae of Athens. and assisted him in several successful naval campaigns. In 404, when exiled by the Thirty , he retired to Thebes. In the following winter with 70 men, he seized Phyle, a hill fort on Mt. Parnes near Athens. His supporters soon grew so with 1,000 men, he repelled an attack by the oligarchs. In autumn 403, following skirmishes with a Spartan expedition under King Pausanias, a reconciliation was effected and democracy was restored.
Delicate cast-iron and steel necklace, the long chain comprised of intertwined wire links that are united by a large, central link in the form of a small, round steel medallion with the applied image of a Sistine Cherub, the medallion surround by leafy foliage, the chain extends from this link to support a large pendant in the form of a cross with pierced arms enhanced with Gothic crockets and ending in pierced, scrolling foliate elements, the center of the cross decorated with a floral element applied to an oval, steel medallion, with screw closure.

Solid medium blue jasper bulb pot in the form of the figure of a winged Cupid as a young man reclining next to a large vessel on a stand on an oval base molded and decorated with white jasper to look like a rocky ground, Cupid rests against a sarcophagus decorated with white jasper garlands and stiff leaf motifs and with a pierced top.
