A silhouetted figural plaque.
Oval blue jasper medallion with white relief profile portrait of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) facing left. Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, Empress of India; only child of the Duke Of Kent and Victoria Maria Louisa of Saxe Coburg; born at Kensington Palace, 1819. She was crowned in 1838, and in 1840 married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha by whom she had nine children. Victoria had strong likes and dislikes among the politicians of the day, and although she was, on the whole, a constitutional sovereign, she retained a keen appreciation of her own powers.
Large creamware mug decorated with nine rectangular panels, each either red or blue and each with a letter in silhouette that together spell out the words "A SOUVENIR", superimposed on each of the letters is a line-drawn vignette of London landmarks, including the Tower Bridge; Westminster Abbey; the Post Office Tower; the Tower; Trafalgar Square; St. James Park; Big Ben; Buckingham Palace; and St. Paul's, the upper part of the mug, both inside and out, decorated with sets of three hand-drawn parallel lines on a slant.
Vase of bone china in the shape of the First Day's Vase with bulbous body and small foot resting on a small square plinth, with two upright, elongated handles, the flat cover with baluster finial, the vase in the "Aesthetic style" and elaborately decorated on a white ground with two large inward curling scrolls on all four sides in shades of matte olive green, turquoise, and gold, in between are leafy swags extending from orange and gold rectangular reserves above a stylized acanthus leaf element, the lower body in matte olive green with cross hatching and parallel lines in gold, the shoulder of the vase with gold anthemion motifs against a matte olive green ground, the handles gold and the foot decorated with a band of leafy elements in orange and turquoise, a similar band runs around the side of the cover, the top of the cover and the finial in matte olive green highlighted in gold, the square base matte green on the sides and likewise highlighted in gold.
