Large creamware mug decorated with nine rectangular panels, each either red or blue and each with a letter in silhouette that together spell out the words "A SOUVENIR", superimposed on each of the letters is a line-drawn vignette of London landmarks, including the Tower Bridge; Westminster Abbey; the Post Office Tower; the Tower; Trafalgar Square; St. James Park; Big Ben; Buckingham Palace; and St. Paul's, the upper part of the mug, both inside and out, decorated with sets of three hand-drawn parallel lines on a slant.

Louis XVI mantel clock set with six plaques of soft-paste porcelain, each decorated with brightly colored enamels in imitation of jewels in a pattern of scrolls and foliage in green, turquoise, red, and gold on a white ground, the plaques fit into a plinth-shaped gilt-bronze frame flanked by four rock crystal Corinthian columns with gilt-bronze capitals and surmounted by draped urn finials, on top a large, central rock crystal classical urn draped with gilt-bronze garlands, the blue enamel clock face surrounded by a white enamel dial is mounted with two gilt-bronze classical figures with bells and mythological motifs, the base with scrolling foliage on four flattened bun feet
Round blue jasper medallion with white relief profile portrait of Moliere (1622-1673) facing left. Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, who took the stage name of Moliere, was born in Paris, the son of an upholsterer, who was also valet-de-chambre to Louis XIII. He studied under the Jesuits at the College de Clermont. In 1641 Moliere succeeded his father as the King's valet, but soon abandoned the appointment for the stage, joining a company of strolling players. For a time he came under the patronage of the Prince de Conti, and the King's brother, the duc d'Orleans. He first played before the King in 1658. In the following year his genius as a comic dramatist asserted itself, and the well known comedies began to flow from his pen. In 1665 Louis XIV adopted Moliere's troupe of players as his own, giving its director a pension of a thousand livres. His last play was the Malade Imaginaire. Moliere was ill when it was played, and the exertion produced a haemorrhage from which he died a few hours later.
