Small asparagus shell of white soft-paste porcelain with low vertical, scalloped sides that taper towards one end, open at both ends to allow bundles of asparagus spears to be contained inside, the interior printed sideways in underglaze blue in the "Fisherman" or "Pleasure Boat" pattern, above and below the printed scene and on the interior and exterior sides a border of small blue square elements with a white dot in the middle above a repeating C-scroll and dot pattern.
