Disney Heroes and Villains, the Art of the Disney Costume

The BMA’s Disney Heroes and Villains, the Art of the Disney Costume field trip includes pre-visit and post-visit activities for the classroom!

PRE-VISIT ACTIVITIES

Before bringing your students to the BMA to visit the exhibition, we have some fun activities to get the students excited about the exhibition. Our pre-visit activity is called Create a Character. Simply download the BMA Bellringer Worksheet to hand out to students. Each day of the week you have a new activity. Educators can use the presentation below for each day and the students will follow along with their worksheet.

EXHIBITION ACTIVITIES

Because this is a self-guided field trip, we have made two fun activities for students to use while students are in the exhibition galleries. Students can explore how color relates to characters with the Power of Color activity. Students can also explore the details of costumes with our From Buttons to Buckles scavenger hunt. You can access the PDF version HERE. We also offer a fun for all ages Costume Bingo activity that will keep students engaged with the costumes! You are welcome to print these and bring them with you or request the BMA to provide them for your visit.

POST-VISIT ACTIVITIES

We have two post-visit activities available for students!

The first post-visit activity is included in the last page of the presentation above.

The second post-visit activity are hands-on crafts inspired by the exhibition. Students can make a Heroes Crown, a Villain Hat, and a Magic Wand. You can access the materials list and instructions HERE.
