Impact

Thanks to your generosity, the Birmingham Museum of Art is able to care for and maintain our permanent collection, prepare for changing exhibitions, and provide education and outreach programs for visitors of all ages

Founded in 1951, the Birmingham Museum of Art has benefited from the generosity of countless individuals, corporations, municipalities, and through the City of Birmingham. Looking around the Museum, you will see the names of supporters everywhere–on our building and throughout the galleries
There are numerous donors whose names you won’t find on a sign or above a door, but their impact is seen in every program, exhibition, and work of art that graces the halls of our Museum. Because of the generosity of patrons, the Museum’s collection has expanded to more than 26,000 objects, we continue to produce engaging exhibitions by both Alabama and international artists, and excite imaginzations with engaging education programs for visitors of all ages.

Over the course of the past year, your support enabled the BMA to serve more than 120,000 daily visitors, provide training to more than 1,000 educators who will enhance their classroom learning with our extensive collection providing inspiration and illustration, encourage more than 14,000 children to interact and experience art through Bart’s ArtVenture children’s interactive space, and provide exceptional care for the 26,281 objects in our collection. From Art After 5 and Art Breaks to Teen Nights and Heritage Festivals, none of this would have been possible without your support.

We extend our deep appreciation to every person who has supported the Museum through a financial contribution, given of their time, or made a gift of art. Our museum is grateful to each and every one of you.
