Spring Break // Tactile Day at the BMA

Nearly all the art in our collection is meant to be enjoyed with your eyes and not with your hands, but did you know that the BMA has replicas of works in our collection that are meant to be touched? These replicas are called tactiles and were created for our visitors with visual impairments and sensory processing disorders. It is a part of our Sensory Empowerment Program, geared toward providing access and an inclusive experience for visitors at the BMA.
This year for Spring Break we will have all our touch tactiles out on display so families can come for a fun sensory self-guided experience! Even though these tactiles were specially made for people with visual impairments and other sensory needs, we encourage everyone to touch these tactiles and encounter art in new ways.
Join us this Spring Break for Tactile Day on Wednesday, March 29 from 10am – 4pm and enjoy getting your hands on some works of art!
