Slow Art Day

Happy Slow Art Day! Slow Art Day is an internationally recognized event that urges you to slow it down when looking at art. Did you know the average museum visitor only rests their eyes on an artwork for 15 seconds? Slow Art Day encourages you to pick your favorites (or a few new ones) and spend five to ten minutes with them, exploring all the details. You’ll be surprised what you can discover just by taking the time to look.

We hope you’ll take it slow if you visit the Museum today! A local group of BMA docent alumni (and Slow Art Day enthusiasts) will also be hosting a meet up at the BMA on Slow Art Day.
