Recycled Runway

March 2 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Workshops 1, 2, 3, & 4

Led by Bib & Tucker Sew-Op, this costuming workshop invites participants from grades 6-12 to unleash their creativity to design and craft custom-made costumes. Over four intensive sessions, budding designers will be mentored and guided in the art of up-cycling, transforming everyday materials into Disney-inspired runway masterpieces. On April 5th, the costumes will be presented in a runway show during our special event Heroes & Villains: After Hours.

Session 1 (March 2, BMA): Explore the world of sustainable fashion as we introduce the principles of up-cycled design and the magic of Disney costuming.
Session 2 (March 9, BMA): Develop and refine your design vision. With hands-on assistance, you’ll bring your sustainable Disney design to life.

Session 3 (March 16, Bib & Tucker Sew-Op): Venture beyond the Museum for an off-site session at Bib & Tucker where you’ll enhance your design process.
Session 4 (March 23, BMA): Add the final touches to your creation and fit your costume to prepare for its debut on the Recycled Runway on April 5th.

Registration for this workshop series includes all four workshop sessions. Registration for the series will close after the first session on March 2nd.
