Heroes & Villains: After Hours

Immerse yourself in the magic of Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume at the BMA. This evening event is ideal for families, filled with art-making, music, refreshments, and more. With special guests from Recycled Runway by Bib & Tucker Sew-Op, this special program will also feature a runway show of upcycled Disney-inspired fashion by local teens. Access to this special evening requires a regular admission ticket to the exhibition during the event hours. Hurry, as space is limited!

5:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Enchanted Faces by Pinky Fancy Faces

• Transform into your favorite Disney hero or villain with magical face painting. Fun for guests of all ages to enjoy!

5:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Upcycled Fashion Sketching

• Dive into sustainable fashion with our art-making activity. Guests sketch their own Disney-inspired fashion designs and use upcycled materials to decorate their own outfits, blending creativity with eco-consciousness!

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Recycled Runway Show Emceed by Daniel Grier

• We invite you to join us for a runway event where innovation meets tradition, all under the creative guidance of Bib & Tucker Sew-Op’s Sonya Muhammad. This unique fashion showcase is the grand finale of an exclusive Studio School Workshop series, dedicated to the art of upcycling and sustainable design. Over the course of four intensive sessions, held at the BMA, our local teen designers were mentored in transforming everyday materials into enchanting Disney-inspired fashion pieces.
• Led with passion and expertise, the workshop series began on March 2nd, embarking on a journey through the principles of upcycled design, intertwined with the timeless charm of Disney characters and stories. Participants engaged deeply with creativity and sustainability, culminating their learning in the magical runway showcase.
• Witness as these young talents unveil their masterpieces at the Heroes & Villains After Hours event, demonstrating not just the beauty of their creations but the powerful message of eco-conscious fashion. This fashion show highlights the transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary, all through the lens of Disney’s beloved narratives.
