Round dark blue jasper portrait medallion with white relief portrait of William Pitt (1759-1806), younger son of Earl of Chatham, English statesman and successful orator, he entered Parliament in 1781 and became Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1782, aged 23, and First Lord of the Treasury and Chancellor of the Exchequer before he reached his 25th Birthday. In 1800 he was responsible for the Union of Great Britain and Ireland.
