A winged male infant—identified as Cupid, ancient Roman god of love—rides atop an elegantly stylized gazelle, which has been fitted with an ornate saddle, embellished with gilding and red paint, and a sun-like gilded ornamental disc surrounded by three spheres between its antlers. Raised decorative nubs protrude along the center of the back of the gazelle’s head; these nubs visually complement the drop finials on the saddle at the gazelle’s underbelly.
This image is created with black ink on paper. It shows the side of a building. A group of people congregate outside of the buildings entrance—which is partially obscured from view—while a woman with an umbrella walks toward an open side door, in front of which two individuals stand. The two story building has an enclosed balcony on its rear half and an overhanging portico. A tree and a power pole stand between the viewer and the side of the building.
