Brush pot with decoration of figures in a landscape
Tall vase with a splayed foot that swells to a broad shoulder that is topped with a long flaring neck and an open mouth. Piece is decorated in underglaze blue and red with prunus branches in full bloom with pale red flowers. The pattern within the freely painted blue is called Ice Crackle due to it resemblance to cracked ice. Interior is simple white glaze. Foot is glazed with no marks.
One of eight scenes of planting and harvesting rice and the various stages of silk production. The set was intended to be mounted as a folding screen.
