Ladies parasol of black silk taffeta and lined with black silk the canopy overlaid with black tulle cut to reveal a subtle floral design with applied black cording and gold thread applied in a pattern of stylized leafy floral motifs with ruffled edge with black satin banding and tuft of black silk at the top the tapered handlestick of ivory carved in relief with a floral garland that winds around the stick the spike in the form of the bust of a bacchanalian figure likewise in carved ivory with two tassels attached to the stick with black twine the frame of black and gold tone metal
