Unknown member of the Unity Church congregation, before 1960 [see note 2]; gift to the Third Unitarian Church, Chicago, Illinois [see note 3]. Dealer Struve Gallery, Chicago, Illinois; purchased by the Birmingham Museum of Art, Alabama, 1989
1. According to the dealer. Unity Church in Oak Park was built from 1905-1908. Although it is possible the chair was created at the time of building, there is no documentation to support this. See file letter from Bryding Henley to Elaine Harrington, June 26, 1989.
2. According to the dealer. The member of the congregation acquired the chair during the 1950s, but there is not an exact date. See file.
3. According to the dealer. The Third Unitarian Church then lent them to an exhibition at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Home and Studio from 1976-1988. See file
