He gazes upwards at a female figure in a white dress with a blue sash, a red cape or coat, and a veil. She has one arm raised above her holding a lamp. Behind her, a second female figure wearing a pale pink head covering looks on.
This black and white photograph represents a partial view of a staircase leading to the entrance of a stone building. The stairs and building doorway are heavily ornamented. The doorway is blocked by two pieces of wood, one reading “DANGE. / KEE OU.” To the left of the doorway two windows can be seen. In the first story window, one boy stands while a second sits. Another boy looks out from a second story window.
