These are the arms of the Berewout family of Amsterdam. The service was made for Frederick Berewout who married Anna Maria du Peyrou in 1717. Frederick was a merchant, ship owner and banker, with commercial interests in Surinam and the West Indian sugar trade. He was a Director of the Dutch West Indies Company from 1728.
