A barren field fills the foreground; its far edge is lined with tall weeds. At the center of the image, against a partly cloudy sky, is a billboard that bears the text, “For Sale Lots for Colored Call HE24457 Now”. Beside the sign are wire laden telephone poles.
This image is created with black ink on paper. Houses stand atop a steep hill, which may have been partially washed away by erosion. The houses show the peaks of four roofs, some of which may belong to the same building. Amid the houses at the left of the print is a leafless tree. The sky is streaked with dark ink.
