The American West

In this program for adults with low to no vision, specially trained docents present the Museum’s collection by means of verbal descriptions, three-dimensional tactile models based on original works of art, and original sculpture.

Join Master Docent Kay Hanlin for this guided tour to covering the complex implications of Manifest Destiny, beginning with the golden promises of Bierstadt’s Looking Down Yosemite Valley and ending with the James Earle Frasier’s tragic End of the Trail. Participates will have the opportunity to touch two original sculptures while wearing gloves.
