South Hampton Elementary Mural Projects

/ Giving News + Support - In the Community - Programs

On Thursday, September 11, the Museum joined Hands On Birmingham and T-Mobile for Huddle Up, T-Mobile’s national community outreach program that connects kids, primarily from single parent-families in high-need, urban communities to positive people, places, and programs. T-Mobile’s Huddle Up program at South Hampton Elementary is an 0n-going program, serving the school in a variety of ways.

Over 100 T-Mobile employees joined for this part of the project, which included landscaping, donating a new playground, and creating three murals around the school. The murals, located in the band room, gym, and hallway, were painted with paint donated by the Museum. By the end of the project, sports figures will adorn the gym’s walls, a sunshine yellow will brighten the music room, and the hallway will display “the 6 pillars of character.”

The Museum is proud to be a part of this project, allowing us to beautify the student’s surroundings and continue our strong, long-standing partnership with South Hampton Elementary.
