Education / Studio Programs Internship (Unpaid)

Purpose: To assist the Studio Programs Manager in the preparation, administration and facilitation of Studio Programs. May require some classroom teaching and assisting.

Length: Approximately 12 weeks (exact dates to be determined)

Terms: Fall (September-November) and Spring (February-April)

Education: Advanced undergraduate (junior/senior), graduate student, or recent graduate

Area of Study:  Studio Art or Art Education

Hours: Flexible for 10-20 hours per week, M-F from 9am-5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of materials for studio programs including ceramics, printmaking, drawing, and painting
  • Organize supplies for studio programs, including ordering supplies
  • Assist with the facilitation of art activities
  • Update files, create Excel documents, and enter data to maintain accurate records for participation statistics and contact information
  • Assist in creating outreach lesson plans and videos related to the Museum’s collection
  • Frame and install / de-install community student exhibition

Special Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience with artmaking
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Skills with filming and video-making, preferred
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs
  • Valid driver’s license and transportation to offsite events
