Miles College Night Recap

/ In the Community

Our 5th Annual Miles College Night at the BMA was nothing short of fantastic! This collaborative evening featured tours of the Museum’s collections and special exhibitions, combined with artistic and cultural presentations from the Miles College community. The event, attended by over 380 students, faculty, and staff, was generously sponsored by the Alabama Power Foundation and Miles College.

Each year, a student intern from Miles College helps to organize the event. This year’s intern was Lydia Cherie Walker, a junior majoring in communications and public relations from Los Angeles, California. As the Miles College intern, she serves as a liaison between the College and the Museum. Her theme for the event was centered around African art and cultural appreciation, extending the theme of this year’s Black Panther-inspired Miles College Homecoming. We look forward to continuing the successful tradition of Miles College Night next year.
