Discover the masterpieces created by the youth of Alabama, and see firsthand how the visual arts can impact change in our communities and young citizens. Each March, the Birmingham Museum of Art and Alabama art educators celebrate the creativity and talent of our state’s youth. National Youth Art Month emphasizes the value of art education for all students and encourages support for quality art-education programs. The exhibition provides a forum to acknowledge skills fostered through visual-arts education that are not possible in other subjects offered in the curriculum.

This year marks the 21st Youth Art Month exhibition at the Museum. Committed to being an active partner in our community, the Museum has worked with school systems, teachers, and students for over 20 years to provide innovative arts experiences that enable students to develop creativity, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate. These abilities are critical for success as students continue their education and prepare to enter the workplace.

Support these young artists by visiting this wonderfully diverse exhibition, and help keep Alabama arts education a priority!
