Linoleum Block Printing Workshop with Debra Riffe

In this 2-day workshop, students will learn basic linocut and block printing techniques. Ages 16+ are welcome to participate; level of expertise is a non-issue. The first day of the workshop will be spent carving. The second day students will complete carving and making prints. The workshop will be taught by printmaker Debra Riffe. Riffe is an exhibiting artist in the BMA exhibition, Light Play, which draws from the museum’s permanent collection to show the influence and use of light in art. Riffe received her BFA in Illustration from Howard University College of Fine Arts, Washington DC. She has studied with engraver Barry Moser at Zea Mays Printmaking, Florence, MA and with woodcut artist Nick Wroblewski Grand Marais Art Colony, Minnesota. Riffe is represented by Canary Gallery, Birmingham, AL.
