Join us for a Lunch and Learn on Photographic Masters of the Yosemite Valley, from Carleton E. Watkins to Ansel Adams on Wednesday, October 29 at noon in the Members’ Room.
California’s majestic Yosemite Valley has captivated the attention of photographers since Charles Leander Weed took the first known photographs of the Valley in 1859. Using many examples from the BMA’s own collection, Dr. Graham C. Boettcher will discuss the rich history of photography in the Yosemite Valley, an artistic tradition which continues to this day, with some surprising breaks with tradition and convention.
