Black Out Featured Lecture: Amy Pleasant

Birmingham-based contemporary artist Amy Pleasant will be in conversation with Curator of American Art Dr. Kate Crawford and Curator of Contemporary Art Hallie Ringle on her use of silhouettes in her work and the influence of historic silhouettes on contemporary art, in conjunction with the exhibition Black Out: Silhouettes Then and Now, open through January 12.
Black Out: Silhouettes Then & Now has been organized by the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, Washington, D.C., and generously sponsored by the Thoma Foundation. The local presentation of the exhibition is made possible with support from the Jack Warner Foundation and the Barbara Shelton Education Fund.
