One of a pair (with 1972.277) of silver wine goblets, each with a bulbous cup resting on a slender stem that is divided into two parts by a slightly flared, beaded “waist,” the round foot stepped and with a beaded edge, the main body decorated with leafy floral garlands and ribbons that support on either side an empty roundel that would have held the owners crest or initials (the decoration perhaps later), the interior is covered with a gold wash.
