The upper third of the work is painted blue, green, and red with areas of purple. The head of a figure interrupts the band about two thirds of the way across. The head has a light blue outline. Half of the head is painted black and the other is a stylized depiction of a face rendered in black, white, and tan. The middle register of the painting is a combination of abstract, gestural marks and collage paper. The right center register contains an image of a young boy with his finger in his mouth. Driskell signed the work on the bottom right center register. The lower portion of the canvas contains black, gestural marks interspersed with tan and gray sections.
A bright white and Prussian blue image of forest trees and underbrush. The photographically derived image is hand-drawn in a fluid, opaque medium that creates drips and spatters.
