This image is created with black ink on white paper. It represents an assembled version of Birmingham’s skyline from the 1930s, including the Thomas Jefferson Tower, the Watts Building, the John Hand Building, and the Jefferson County Courthouse. In front of the skyline in the middle ground are two large cylindrical gas holders. Two thirds of their scaffolding is visible, and only the bottom third of the tanks contain gas. In front of the gas holders are a series of small commercial buildings, houses, and a bridge with a road passing beneath.
A black and white photograph of multiple and overlapping exposures of an abstract triangular shape, possibly a window. Across the top of some triangles is a white diagonal line, similar to in texture of a pencil mark. The cluster of triangles is framed towards the middle of the photograph.

In the alley, a woman leans on the fence at the right, facing away from the viewer. There is also a fence at the end of the alley, above which are a laundry line and trees.
