- Inscription On the underside engraved with a scratch weight 27 / 4 plus miscellaneous numerical scratch marks; on one side an engraved coat-of-arms (possibly the Dunlop family arms impaled)
- Provenance Dealer N. Bloom & Sons Antiques, Ltd., London, England; purchased by the Birmingham Museum of Art in 1978
