Burnished earthenware bird whistle of brownish clay under chocolate slip; bird has appliquéd human features (eyes, nose, ears, mouth) and curved arms which rest on abdomen; appliquéd hat is on top of head. Figure balances on two front legs, and hollow, cylindrical tail, which is open at the end. Four holes are on either side of bird's back, and a large opening is on the underside of the figure.

Face with furrowed brow, lowered eyelids, puckered lips, and bulging cheeks. Ears pierced; rope-like band extending from ear to ear across back of head. Deep vertical groove in back.
