The scene on this teapot is copied from an engraving by Sébastian LeClerc (1637-1714). In Greek mythology the beautiful Dirces (Dercetis) aroused the jealousy of Venus by falling in love with a priest. In shame, Dirces abandoned her daughter by the priest and, as we see, threw herself into a lake and turned into a fish. The silver spout is a later addition.

Probably a later cast of the obverse of a medal commemorating the restoration of the Coliseum after 1825.
Urn-shaped potpourri vase or bulb pot of solid white jasper with dark blue jasper dip and applied white and dark blue jasper relief decoration, on round foot with a band of acanthus leaves around it and engine turned to create a blue and white checkerboard pattern with darker blue quatrefoils on the white squares, the lower body with stylized acanthus leaves and a laurel leaf vine running horizontally around the waist, the upper body likewise engine turned to create a blue and white checkerboard pattern with applied darker blue jasper quatrefoils on the white squares, with a white insert cover pierced with seven holes, the interior with a sump cover over the bolt.

Cast-iron silhouette plaque of a seated man and woman, the man with gun leaning against his knee and with a dog at his foot, he reaches over and places flowers in the woman's hair, she looks demurely down, holding a flower in her left hand, a flowering bush to her left.
