Terpsichore, Muse of Dance, Modeled after a Wedgwood medallion by John Flaxman, Jr., Royal Prussian Iron Foundries, cast iron
Oval white jasper medallion with green relief of Melpomene was one of the nine muses originally the goddess of music, song and dance before being named the muse of tragedy potrayed holding a tragic mask or sword often wearing a wreath of Ivy and wearing cothurnus boots.
Creamware stand for a fruit basket with a molded basket weave pattern in the well and pierced latticework rim, highlighted in red and black enamel.
Light blue and white jasper kettle, the lower body engine-turned to create a pattern of stripes, the main body decorated with white relief with on one side Charlotte at the Tomb of Werther and on the other with figures from the Domestic Employment series, on the shoulder are stylized reeds and floral elements, the neck is raised and scalloped and the cover sits inside it, the cover likewise engine-turned and with a pattern of stiff leaf motifs and beading emanating from the conforming ball knop, the relatively straight spout is molded with overlapping leaves, the bail handle is comprised of silver and wood.
