This image is created with black ink on paper. It represents a two story house with a porch to the left, built with brick on the bottom story and board on the top. The windows are in various states of disorder and on the top story some of the wood siding has fallen away, revealing the lathe and plaster of the interior walls. There are two windows in the top story and two windows in the bottom story. In front of the bottom right window there is a small outbuilding, also made of brick. There is a figure to the left of the outbuilding and another seated to the right next to a chair. Behind her stands a tree, and a second house stands behind the tree, more obscured than the first. A tree also rises from behind the upper left of the house at the left of the image.

Includes caption "Clinton, Tenn., Sept. 1--Negro Tourist Attacked--An unidentified youth last night used one of his shoes to add further damage to an out-of-state car carrying Negroes which was attacked by an angry mob. The mob, fired by a speech by Asa E. Carter, Birmingham, Ala., a White Citizens Council leader, stoned and bounced at least 6 autos bearing Negroes. The tire on this car was also flattened. The paper is divided horizontally by two irregular lines of color; one red on the right side of the paper and one black and blue on the left. A piece of ribbon has been adhered to the paper in the red paint as well as a square of crumpled tin foil that has been painted red on the far right side of the paper. The two lines of color are divided by a vertical line of black paint that extends to the bottom of the work into a rectangle of black paint. Above the rectangle is a section with strokes of yellow, white, blue, orange, and red paint. Above the horizontal red section is an area of blue paint flecked with green and dark blue, flanked on either side by black lines. The upper right and left corners of the work are dominated by areas of yellow and off-white paint. The upper left area of yellow paint is adjacent to a large rectangle of orange flecked with blue and white. On the right side of the orange rectangle is a strip of aluminum foil. The lower half of the work is filled with irregular areas of lavender, white, blue, black, and orange, as well as a square of aluminum foil on the left side.
