This painting represents a cresting wave breaking on a shoreline. A boat rests in shallow water and sand just in front of the breaking wave. Many boats are visible scattered at sail, offshore. Just above the horizon is a brilliantly colored sunsest and a sky with scattered clouds.
This grayscale print represents two highly stylized figures embracing. Their faces move toward one another, with the man's face above looking down and the woman's face below looking up. They are flanked on either side by two objects that appear to be stylized trees, and there is a white circle (a moon) above the male figure's proper right shoulder.
