Cupid Sailing, Modeled after a relief (1831) by Bertel Thorwaldsen, Ilsenburg, cast iron
Teapot of buff-colored caneware with applied dark gray-green stoneware relief decoration in the Darwin pattern, the main body with a design of vertical fern fronds, alternating larger and smaller, and whorls of the marsh plant mare's tail, around the shoulder the stem of the same plant, the conforming cover with similar decoration and button finial, the loop handle and straight spout likewise decorated with applied fern fronds and mare's tail whorls, with glazed interior.

Vase; on a square base, a round foot with slender stem; the body with a relief scene of putti with an ox on one side, and on the other three putti eating grapes, all beneath grape vines and buches of grapes; the two tightly scrolled handles suggest an origin at the Sayn foundry.
