This etching is created with black ink on paper. It pictures a residential street on a hill overlooking an iron furnace. The street extends into the foreground. On the left side of the street are receding houses, some with one or two story porches. A figure enters the front door of the first house, and two additional figures walk in the street. A tree rises at the right side of the street, and next to it the upper half of a car is seen.
This black-and-white photograph shows two children walking down an eroded hillside away from a house and toward the camera. The elder child wears a hat and coat; the younger child has bowed legs, a sign of rickets.
