This service was probably made for William Fenton of St. Christopher’s in the Leeward Islands or, perhaps, for his daughter Jane who married John Roberts of Bonington in 1761, later Chairman of the East India Company, for whom two services are known.

In the middle the gate to the entrance hall at Babelsberg Castle, flanked on either side by figures from the iron bridge in Sanssouci, mounted in cast-iron frame.
Identified by Ames as "Blind Jack," born John Metcalfe of Knaresborough (1717-1810). He became blind at age six, but learned to play the violin, ride, swim, build houses and bridges, and is famous for the many roads constructed by him.
