Large, round portrait medallion of white jasper with green jasper dip and in white relief the portrait head left of Dr. Victor Tourneur (1878-1967), Belgian numismatic, historian, ethnologist, bibliographer and professor, and chief curator of the Royal Belgian Library from 1929-1943. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium, the name "Victor Tourneur Dr Phil:" running vertically on the right.
Covered urn of solid white jasper with black jasper dip and applied white relief decoration, partially engine-turned, resting on square plinth decorated with white anthemion motifs, the round foot with acanthus leaves and star motifs and a band of beading, the lower half of the body with a black and white checkerboard pattern, the white squares with applied yellow jasper quatrefoil motifs, the upper body with the applied figures of the Dancing Hours below swags and ribbons, with two leaf-molded scroll handles, the shoulder with overlapping acanthus leaves, with stiff leaf motifs on the neck, with a band of beading and applied star motifs, the conforming cover with ball finial.
