Wine goblet with bowl of reddish-pink glass that fades toward the stem, with slight fluting and a series of black dots that become more elongated as they near the stem, the stem green-blue and the round foot of clear glass, the overall effect resembles a watermelon.
Large, molded, porcelain pitcher, with blue ground, the spout in the form of a sea lion with tusks and beard, on one side the white molded image of King Gambrinus introducing lager into the United States and offering Brother Jonathan his first glass of the foaming beverage, the Buck Goat is seen surmounting the beer keg, on the other side are the figures of Bill Nye and Ah Sin, the "Heathen Chinee," who has just been caught with the three aces falling from his sleeve, the handle is comprised of a nondescript animal, below the lip a border of ivy leaves on a vine, below the spout a medallion in the form of stylized foliate motifs, with gold highlights.
Whig Rose
A pitcher with a handle in the form an oak tree bough, its branches extending to form the lip of the vessel–, and foliage – filled with oak leafs and acorns –spreading across the vessel. The pitcher commemorates Connecticut's celebrated "Charter Oak," a pre-revolutionary symbol of American independence. According to legend, in 1687, Connecticut's Royal Charter of 1662 was hidden in hollow within the tree to prevent its confiscation by the English governor-general.
