Large quilt in a variation of the Whigs Defeat pattern on a cream colored cotton ground a grid of twelve squares each enclosed in a pattern of double bands of repeating nailhead or dogtooth motifs in red cotton at each corner an eight point star in alternating orange and red in the center of each square a cream colored diamond on light blue ground with half circle notches at each corner highlighted by a band of like nailhead motifs also in red the backing cream colored cotton edged in red
