Shallow hand-carved, trencher-like vessel
Small face jug of tan stoneware covered with opaque glazes in beige and brown, the neck short and the opening wide, with two large eyes surrounded by applied and protruding circular elements, which give them a comical appearance, the nose in between the eyes is long and rounded and has two protrusions on either side above the upper lip, these protrusions and the upper lip and mouth area flecked in black, from the mouth protrude five irregular, crooked teeth, with incised markings on the cheeks and stippled above the eyes, on the backside on either side of the handle incised FREE ME NOW and APRIL 16 TAXES DONE! along with an ichthys symbol.
Glazed stoneware face jug with undefined white eyes and an open mouth with teeth, the face glazed half brown and half tan with a splotch of brown on the nose and splash of gold above the left eyebrow, with a phallic-shaped handle and short spout, the entire piece with applied bits including a blue and white teacup hanging from the left side, ceramic shards projecting from the face, shell motifs, a baby’s head, and stuck in the forehead a white porcelain cow's head, on top of the face are the torso and head of a male figure sticking his tongue out, with undefined white eyes and wearing stacked dishes on his head, from his torso project ceramic legs and arms and on his left shoulder sits a blue ceramic horse, on the right and resting on the spout are a pale tan horse and white porcelain head, with a round bail handle with two loose snakes wrapped around it and a hollow head with pierced eyes as finial, on the back incised LENZO and the date 9-11-2001 along with God Help Us.
