A scene on a street where men are doing various cruel act to cats, dogs, and chickens. Hogarth published this set to alert his contemporaries about the cruel treatment that animals had to endure in eighteenth century England.
Half length portrait of Joseph Addison. He is portrayed with long curly hair wearing a jacket with horizontal embellishments and buttons along the center opening. He turns slightly to the right as he faces the viewer. Behind him on the right can be seen a narrow view of a landscape.
