Pair of silver butter tubs each resting on four ball and claw feet with beaded legs that terminate in leafy motifs, the bodies boat-shaped with beaded rims interspersed with leafy elements, the body also with a vertical band of beading on each side extending from the rim to the underside, with two U-shaped handles decorated likewise with leafy elements, one side of each butter tub engraved with two crests: a demi-lion rampant to left and a lion’s head above a ducal crown with a banner below with the motto SOL ET SCUTUM DEUS.
