This black and white photograph centers on an African American man, dressed in a suit, who holds a tube to his mouth. The tube curves, runs beneath his feet, and connects to a flaming vessel. To the left and the right of the man are wooden crossbeams. One vertical support beam to the left of the figure reads “HAITI” and another reads “65.” In front of those beams, represented in the lower right corner of the image, are two buckets.
This image is created with black ink on paper. A large mountain of material with a round pock rises to cover much of this sheet. Ruts and grooves wind through the pile, having been eroded throughout. In a valley at the right of the sheet, a power pole is seen in the distance.
