Horizontally arranged in two rows are the Seven Virtues, each represented by a classicaly dressed woman with a symbol of her virtue, and below her, a historical figure who was famous for that virtue. From left to right there is: Prudence with Solon; Justice with King Solomon; Faith with St. Peter; Charity with St. John the Evangelist; Hope with St. James the Greater; Fortitude with Samson; and Temperance with Scipio Africanus.
