This painting represents a basket of fruit sitting on a marble tabletop Within the basket are grapes with grape leaves and vines apples peaches an orange and a pear Spilling from the basket onto the tabletop are grapes peaches plums apples oranges and a piece of cut watermelon Amid the tabletop fruit is a birds nest containing three eggs There is also a silver plate on the tabletop and on the silver plate are a filled champagne flute and a peeled lemon as well as grapes apples peaches a plum and two currants The artist has signed the painting Roesen in the lower right corner by extending a grape vine
