- Inscription Artist’s Inscription (top left): Because of my love for the plum blossom, I had to go and see them. The fragrance of the flower and the snow enveloped my body, I was unaware of the cold. Casually riding a donkey, I sought poetic expression, but all the verses I can think of are about high mountains and precipitous paths. No one can describe my feeling right now. In the mid-autumn of the year of xinwei (1871), done by Baofa. ??????????????????????????????????? Because of my love for the prunus, I went to view them. The fragrant snow enveloped my body; I was unaware of the cold. Casually astride a donkey, I sought poetic expression. Useless words from the past are as many as the roads to Shu (Szechuan). Made by Baofa on the mid-autumn festival of xin-wei (1871).
